danielv2000
I've been searching in vain for a gen silver dial with the black sub dials for my next V72 build. Impossible to find. I recently picked up a couple of dials pictured below. What are your thoughts? You will note that one of the markers on the dial with the darker Daytona font came loose. Luckily it was in the bag! freddy333
I recently picked up a couple of dials pictured below. What are your thoughts? Neither looks gen, but I think the dial on the left is the better of the 2. A better pic would help. Re-shoot the pic above (at 1024x768 pixels) as a macro (close-up) with the inner edges of the dials touching (so they are closer together) so they (the 2 dials) fill the screen (leave out the all the area beyond the edge of the lego block). Valty
Same here, the dial at the left looks better, the fonts on the right dial are a way too bold / fat I probably will have my silver DW dial for sale "soon" (expect 1month), because I will swap for gen dial If it's interest you... It's probably the best aftermarket dial I've seen Reminder : R.
danielv2000
Will try to take better pics. I misplaced my macro lens. Might have left it in the kids bag and they're with the ex this week. Argh! @ Freddy, you're right! I spent an hour comparing mine with the gen dials and that's when it falls a part! That's why I love/hate Stefano Mazzariol's pics! @Valty, your dial looks very similar to my left dial. I'll definitely try to take a better pic to compare. Better photos on your side will be great to see if there is any difference ;-) And if there is not so much differences, your left dial is probably the "best" rep dial you can have these days, for sure :-)
lhooq
daniel: I assume both dials are from DW? As Valty noted, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better standard dial on the aftermarket than the one on the left. I prefer the subdial dishing and the hour markers on the right dial, but the left has the finer fonts and clearer printing.
Valty
One gen black dial here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Daytona-Black-Original-Dial-Ref-6263-6265-Vintage-Circa-1970s-Red-/120847038545?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item1c230b7851#ht_500wt_1057 Only if you like the vintage tritium dials But located in the USA, means probably VAT at the end
