I think cny goes until beginning of February.

The CNY is two weeks long, not one. AND people travel to their home villages and then back to the city afterwards, making this a 4 week event.

CNY is 15 days long. Much like the 12 days of Christmas.

Only difference is, in China, they celebrate for the full 15 days.
