gran
ARCHIMEDE S p o r t P u l s Ickler GmbH, Hirsauerstr. 214, 75180 Pforzheim, Germany Seen this one sold for down to $360 or EUR 295,- Eta 2824. This watch measures 42 mm by 10 mm so size is very nice The maker say: "The SportPuls allows not only the reading of time and date but also measures the pulse rate. Three consecutives pulsometer scales are placed along the outer perimeter of the dial. After counting 15 pulses the rate can be read on the scale. One never has to wait more than 20 seconds to start the measurement. Compared to a chronograph, this concept has the advantage, that, when measuring one's own pulse, doesn't have to awkwardly press the pusher with one hand. Moreover, the SportPuls, with it's Eta 2824 is much lighter and less complex than a chronograph. The polished 42mm stainless steel case features a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 50m. The rugged and reliable Eta 2824 is visible through the display back." Link: http://www.archimede-uhren.de/EN/Watches/7919-a31.htm Q: Is this SportPuls as practical as the claim? Another thing I have noticed with these watches is none say "SWISS MOVT" or "Made in Germany" on them...I wonder why? regards Gunnar
mr1973
The Archimede watches are - without any doubt - one of the best watches money can get (at this price). Just check out the Archimede Pilot which is surely the most common Archimede watch. And, btw, they´re entirely made in Germany! Mr. Ickler is one of the most respected case manufacturer in Europe. No doubt mr1973 but why does he not put "Made in Germany" on the front? could they be assembeled in asia? or must the movement be German too to put "Made in Germany" on them? mr1973
For what i know, these watches are entirely assembled in germany... Don´t know why he does´nt put "made in...." on the dial. Maybe it´s just not that important to him
chrgod
Good looking watch. Nice price also! My guess is that it is assembled in Asia. It is probably as German as my Swissmatic is Swiss!
watchlover321
http://www.gnomonwatches.com/Archimede.htm ..is where I usually look for them. No chance, Archimede is one of the most respected watch companies in germany. You cant compare that to aeromatic 1912, tauchmeister etc. The watches are assembled in germany. Archimede even have their very own cases (made in germany as well).
