edgematic1
Guys, I am getting together all my parts for my DW Tudor 7032 build. As a gen 25-128 crystal can be had but at high prices (some asking $400) I have been looking for some alternatives. There's Phong, but he's generally quite high with his prices (and I'm on a budget). Now, I would like to know what the dimensions are of a gen 25-128 crystal so I can pick the crystal that is leaning most towards the genuine article. I've found 2 other suppliers of these aftermarket crystals, here you can see some pics I got from them: Supplier nr. 1 (diameter 33mm, thickness 3,5mm) $78: Supplier nr. 2 (diameter 33.1mm, thickness unknown til now, waiting for his response on the thickness) $90:
gplracer
How much of a difference over thevstock dw crystal do these or a gen make?
modelizer
Good to know! A little over a year ago when I was 25-128 hunting there was no alternative to the gen article.. Please keep us updated! However, the last pic from supplier #2 is not a 128, right? It looks thicker and seem to have a standard sub magnifier. jmb
How thick is the gen crystal? I'm tweaking a CNC program right now attempting to machine a crystal since I cracked the DW crystal I started with.
