Hi, I'm new to RWG and was wondering if anyone knew of a place to get a quality, modified ETA 2836-2 movement with a GMT function for a GMT-Master? My movement may need to be replaced and was wondering if anyone knew where to acquire them. Thanks.

If you have one currently, the GMT bits can be swapped off of the movement that you have now to a standard 2836. The GMT modded 2836s come with a variety of different hand heights, hand sizes, etc (there's not a whole lot of standardization) so you actually might be better off this way.

It depends on what's wrong with it, of course.

Currently my Rolex GMT-Master II Coke with an ETA 2836 movement is being repaired it has been about three weeks and my watch guy says he still working on it, the watch itself stopped ticking and when the power reserve ran down it came back on for around one minute and then stopped again, I went to wind it had a gritty, grinding feeling that doesn't feel normal, i though it simply needed to be serviced but it has been taking a while so i'm waiting for the phone call that the movement needs to be replaced and want to be prepared? Anyone run into similar issues or have any ideas? Thanks.
