Noob Gmt Question

When looking at a GMT rep, what does it mean when it says "GMT HAND: Yes (Self adjustable via screw crown)"

Are there some reps that this is not the case?

Do most GMT's actually work (function) and accurately show another time zone?

I'm currently in the market for a vintage Explorer 2 - if anyone has recommendations, it's appreciated!

Though most, if not all of the Rep Gmt offerings do not operate like Gen...

You can use those with independently adjustable gmt hands as a 2nd

time zone.

Just be sure to stay away from the gmts that simply follow the hour hand,

i.e. the 24 hour day, night indicators. <_<

EL among other dealers, has great ones.... -_-

I've acquired a GMT-II with seperately adjustable gmt hand... the bezel is of the rotating variety so it is useful for seperate timezone timekeeping...

Sadly though... my GMT-II features the Tri-lock crown of a Sub... thats is killing me... currently researching how hard to source the correct crown/tube... black nato strap atm, cause it came on a sub braclet as well.

The 50th GMT has the 7mm triplock crown and WR was increased from 100m to 200m, I believe. The old GMT II's have the 6mm crown (twinlock) and WR 0f 100m. You could go back w/ a 6mm tube and crown, or make up a story about it being the 2006 edition- who's going really know?
