pete g Posted February 16, 2012 Report Share Posted February 16, 2012 hi all, i bought a submariner for 120$. the watch keeps perfect time for 8 hours then starts to run slow to the tune of 5 minutes. this is repeated. any explanations? i'am assuming a asia 21j or such. automatico Posted February 17, 2012 Report Share Posted February 17, 2012 You did not say if it started running slow after 8 hours of wearing the watch without winding it to start with or 8 hours after winding it manually and wearing it, so I would recommend that you wind it 35 or 40 revolutions of the crown, then put it on and see how long it keeps good time before slowing down. If it keeps good time for 30 hours or more it is probably Ok. Most automatics need winding before wearing them.
