Help with Asian 6497 movement intermittent

Dear All,

I finally got my Pyrolume navigator watch back from the receivers after the watch repair store I took it to went bust. I had already ordered a spare asian 6497 movement so I decided to try swapping the movements myself.

The swapout went well (dinged the lume on the dial a tiny bit but still looks okay) and I reinserted the original crown. I have never been happy with the 'flushness' of fitting of the crown since I got it.

Now if I wind the watch and leave it on my nightstand the watch keeps good time. If I put it on my wrist then after a while the hands fail to move on, even though the movement seems to be running. If I pull out the crown and update the hand positions all is well for a while and then it happens again.

Interestingly exactly the same thing was happening before the movement failed last time.

I suspect it is something to to with the crown stem.

Any ideas what to do?

N

Neither da hour, minute or second hand moves?

And the balancier continues to oscillate?

Verrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting . . . . . . . .

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On da "conventional Swiss, anchor type train"(non-offset), if da moving zeiger are only da:

minute and seconds hands - look fur da "raised" hour wheel or da damaged or dislodged minute wheel

hour and seconds hands only - look fur da loose minute hand

seconds hand - loose cannon pinion

none and da werks ist still going - look fur da priest!

sm iiH!
