Jkay Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 I could wear it for a week or two straight, obviously. Are there tricks which apply to this kind of sueded leather?
P4GTR Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Bend it into an arc back and forth a bit. There's nothing you can really apply to the leather that is going to do what breaking it in will naturally.
Jkay Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 Ok thanks. I guess I'll just wear it 24/7 except in the shower until the padded "bolsters" inside the leather soften up.
vandal.tbh Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Ooooh, i like the way that looks. Where did you get it and for how much? Do they come in black?
Jkay Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 The replica panerai Assolutamente strap is $40 usd. It is the strap the gen 390 comes on, from panerai. I do not know why our dealers sell the great 390 rep on that big polished leather strap instead. I bought this one at Kuvarsit. I read here on the forum that our dealers did not sell them or were out of stock.
asf Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Just keep wearing it. That will definitely help. Maybe a bit of obernauf leather oil

I'll go check it out. Nice looking strap!
Jkay Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 Yes, it's only 3 hours later and I feel the bolsters loosening up already. thanks for the advice.
AsiadeCuba Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 just wear it night and day. that 390 is really growing on me
chou Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 just for reference i think perfect clones also have them
rogerthat Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 The ones at perfect clones and most other dealers are different and not nearly as nice They are only made 24/22 and the short length at least currently
Jkay Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 YES I forgot to mention that the very large buckle that came with the rep 390 was the wrong size for this strap. It was a couple mm too wide. I swapped on another buckle and am good to go.
P4GTR Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) Be careful with oils, conditioners and polishes on that type of leather, its going to change the texture and appearance. Like I said, just break it in the old fashioned way. Edited March 2, 2012 by P4GTR
Jkay Posted March 2, 2012 Author Report Posted March 2, 2012 I will take your advice. I don't want to mess up the sueded finish.
opti Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 what I do with new straps is to just run them under warm water and then put the watch on for the next couple of hours, moulds into shape MUCH quicker, and its only water.
Cats Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 What i did witm my Kurva is wearing it day and night and i rubbed the leather with my index finger and thumb over and over again. After a few weeks it will have a much darker tint . I'll try to make a decent picture of the strap as it is now and post it. Be careful with the stiching if you rub that too much it will show some wear. Carpe Diem Cats Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Cats Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 This is how mine looks after 1 month of patiently rubbing it. Get the rubbing strated. Carpe Diem Cats
