rolojack Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Hi everyone. I'm sure someone must have tried to "Panerize" a standard ETA using Noob's ST 36 well made bridges. Any issues doing that if ever it's possible? Thanks for the feedbacks !
rolojack Posted April 8, 2012 Author Report Posted April 8, 2012 Thanks for your kind help everyone, really !!!
Jkay Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 If I knew I would tell you. But I don't, so I can't.
rolojack Posted April 10, 2012 Author Report Posted April 10, 2012 OK, well, it seems I'll be the first one to experiment that then. I'll let you know how it turns out if you're interested...
FDG Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 Interesting to see how this turns out. Keep us posted please.
krpster Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 I think you will be lucky if it works. I had to replace a center wheel once on a ST36. I purchased an ETA replacement part. It did not fit out of the box, In my calipers it measured the same but it wasn't. I had to polish the pinion ever so slightly to allow free motion in the jewel. Believe me this was no easy task In any case take that for what it is, seems unlikely that it will be 100% 1:1 to allow replacement but I guess you never know until you try.
rolojack Posted April 11, 2012 Author Report Posted April 11, 2012 Right, you never know untill you try. I don't really believe it would work since they are made with different tooling, but I have to clear this question out of my mind... I'll do that in a few month and make a post if it turns out interesting enough. Those new chinese bridges are really nice. Nice enough to be convincing if it was fitted on the proper plate. For sure the threadings won't fit so I don't think using the ST screws on the ETA plate would work, but to blue the ETA screws won't be an issue. It's the bridges feet position and size I worry about. Experience will tell! Cheers and thanks for sharing your experience!
