horn34
I was looking at buying a rep for a decent price, but the watch loses 2-3 minutes every day. The seller doesn't seem to think it's a big deal, but I'm not sure I could handle adjusting the time every single day. Thoughts?
Jkay
Mechanical watches should all be adjustable to be accurate to 15 or less seconds a day unless something is very wrong. Your watch just needs to be regulated (adjusted). I have a rep Panerai 127 that runs +3 seconds a day. This accuracy is not always possible. Your mileage may vary. Utheman
That's usually a sign the rep needs servicing. Should be fine after that.
freddy333
It may simply need the effective length of its hairspring adjusted (simple adjustment for any professional watchmaker), but all mechanical watches require overhaul (disassembly, cleaning & oiling) every 5-7 years to maintain good, consistent time. Tom Hawkes
A watch loosing 3 minutes a day isn't normal. But on meth it is. Meth. Not even once.
Jkay
Should only take a regulation to fix. I've had watches 30 minutes out per day set straight by regulation.
tabularasa415
If regulation doesn't fix it, it's time for an overhaul!
