d4v1d
Hi all! I felt in love with Rolex Subs and really want one in my collection.. But I am totally new to Rolex reps and I just have read few reviews so far.. I did some research at RWG and Repgeek for 'the best sub'. Unfortunately they are not really close to gen as I thought. However, I am still going to buy one soon. I don't really have a budget but I try to find the best bang for the buck. I have seen much Subs for many different prices and many movement options and I am totally confused now.. Here are some I like but don't know if they are good choices... : Sub Ceramic http://puretimewatch...836-superclone/ GMT http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=5425 Cheaper GMT http://puretimewatch...ect-hand-stack/ Blue ceramic http://www.yourtrust...72112b00ba661bd Alu bezel sub (ugly pearl...) http://www.yourtrust...products_id=256 What would be the best choice from these? Should I get a clone movement or the gold movement? Or can you suggest me something better then these? I can't decide between blue, grey or black yet.. Many thanks! d4v1d
Thanks... but not for me. Actually I find it a bit too expensive.. Try to find a good one for under $400 Edited April 8, 2012 by d4v1d
ile
if you are ready to spend 400 then squeeze a bit more for a tc. i saw it and it's well worth the difference. if you are not will ing to spend much then go for a a2836 powered noobmariner like this one here: http://www.rwg.cc/topic/131081-rolex-submariner-asian-eta-2836-118/page__hl__submariner__fromsearch__1

What about the case and bracelet build? What are the differences between this more expensive one? http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7&products_id=
Tom Hawkes
Let me get this straight: You said you were looking for "the best sub" but were disappointed because none was close enough to gen. TC Sub is 500 USD without the insert and is the closest to gen sub you can get at the moment, takes every gen part and is located in the US. Your answer is that it is "not for you" and also too expensive. But 400 USD for another one would be OK.

d4v1d
Oke I consider that tc... But don't know where to source it?.. If my budget was below 250 USD, then this one would be the best bang for the buck? http://www.rwg.cc/to...__fromsearch__1 Edited April 9, 2012 by d4v1d
TeeJay
Depends how you define 'bang for the buck'... Do you literally want the best price and not concerned about accuracy of details, or do you want something which could probably be handled by someone, and them not be able to spot any errors in spelling on the bracelet clasp? If it's the former, I got a rather nice submariner for £32 shipped from a site called CQOut. Admitedly, the etchings on the bracelet clasp are incorrectly spelled, and it has Maxi dial and hands, but it keeps good time and is waterproof... If you want the latter, and all correct spellings, the stuff which has been listed above is the way to go
