Guest watch4king Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Looked at several pictures of the rep Ultimate version with updated dial and everything looked pretty good but what really jumped at me was the date position.... looks like the date window on the rep is a lot more to the left than the gen. Are there better reps or all the same? I was looking at some pictures here and the difference is pretty substantial... I drew a line to demonstrate the difference but I'm sure the pictures will do the trick. Pretty disappointed as I wanted to get one.
sunnydale Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Looks like your rep picture is from a 45.5 mm version, not a 42 mm.
Jkay Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 If your photos were correct, then a UPO would never be able to accept a gen dial ... and it most certainly does. You have a 42mm Gen PO and a 45mm Rep PO in your pictures.
Guest watch4king Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 That explains it then...thanks! Got find a rep 42mm picture then. For some reason i thought it was a 42.
sneed12 Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Look at the coin edge on the bezel. 42mm has the coin edge, 45mm has scalloped. The 42 and 45 both use the same movement, date window is the same distance from the center of the dial, but since the 45mm dial is bigger it's further to the left of the line you drew. And there's like a million pics of the 5th gen 42mm PO right here on this forum. It was a hot topic when it came out.
Jkay Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Watch4king - if you want to be so precise, and analyze the watch to be sure it's 'perfect' then why not just buy one and add genuine dial, hands and crown.
