Rasta
New member here. I am preparing to purchase my very first replica watch and wondering if I have done my research correctly. I am trying to find the best Planet Ocean Big Size non-Chrono available at a compe[censored]ive price. Here is what I have found... TrustyTime OMG0062C - Planet Ocean 45mm Orange Bez Eta 2824-2 Ultimate Ver (not enough post to provide a direct link) Did I make the correct choice? Rasta
Oops, maybe I want this one instead? OMG0169 - Planet Ocean 45.5mm Org Bez Eta 2824-2 Ult Ver
cougar1
Can't access the link mate (or trusty is down atm?) but yes you are on the right track, the ultimate version 1:1 is the version to get, either eta 2824 or asian 2824.
Rasta
I did order the watch last night. Andrew at TrustyTime has been very helpful and he confirmed that the OMG0169 is the most recent and best rendition. I got the Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement. Short of opening the caseback and looking is there a way to tell for sure that the Swiss variant is inside when the watch arrives?
dluddy
Good choice
Mike on a bike
Rasta been debating one of those. Let use know how you like it. As far as the movement no clue, sorry.
Rasta
Arrived in just 6 days...crazy fast. Overall it looks pretty good. The bezel alignment is very slightly off and the pearl has a "lean" to it (one side is higher than the other). Had the QC pictures shown the pearl problem I would have declined the watch. I still have to wonder if I have the Swiss ETA 2824-2 that I ordered inside or an Asian alternative. I suppose I will not know until the case needs to be opened. cougar1
Very difficult to get a pearl dead centre, some are better than others, if there is a bit of 'give' with the bezel insert you might be able to centre it slightly by moving the the insert, may have to heat it a little to do it though. The whole 'is it swiss' is an ongoing debate tbh, very hard to know, it could be but could be old stock etc even checking the stampings/shocks it is hard to know. If you do open the case you will get a bettter idea, but to know for sure and how good condition its in you'd need to take it apart Best to just enjoy the watch
