V3 diver waterproof?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

Just thought I'd share some info with you all...

Today I gave my V3 to a watch smith to test for its waterproofness (if that's even a word)....

The result...

It failed!

Unfortunately I don't know how far it got before it failed but it definitely failed...

So... Beware!!!!

And check before you swim!!!!

I have 2 Divers (V3). I sent one off to get modded and am wearing the other.

The one I currently have was given to my watch smith to change out the gaskets, re-press the crystal, and grease all the seals and gaskets before re-sealing it. It passed to 15 bar/ATM (150m) on a Lititz pressure tester.

It's all about luck I'd say. If you get good greased and assembled packings etc. Some get it waterproof from the box, some must send it in for the service.

I would still recomend getting it looked up first, then you wont have to worry.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had my V3 waterproofed yesterday. Watchsmith noted that incorrect O-rings were used by the factory, also no grease (no surprise - but wrong rings was a bit of a shock)...

Get em checked before you swim guys!!!!

Then enjoy the summer :)
