  1. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2 Just do a search for BC AP cyclops and you can read about the debacle. Just need further info from anyone who has info on BC and is seeking justice like me.
  2. Like stated in the title, anyone with information on Big Crown please contact me. He is personally responsible for scamming numerous people on this and other rep forums from the AP crystal debacle and it seems that no one wants to step up and do something. He has at the MINIMUM committed mail fraud as well as internet fraud. Well, I am fed up and now it is clear that I will need to try and do something myself. I would appreciate any and all help if others are interested. Please contact me for further details. -NK
  3. Available? Where? Do you mean the gen? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Sorry but gen non matching are NOT well north of $100k as I know 2 that are around $80k complete which is also a complete rip off! I just love how people like to inflate prices. Reminds me of the tech and housing bubble and sadly one day people will realize that. sent from my Samsung GN 2 using Tapatalk 2
  5. There is no way on earth a scratched non matching dial is going to cost 10k €. He might be asking that but that does not mean someone will buy it for that. sent from my Samsung GN 2 using Tapatalk 2
  6. Looks amazing but sadly it is scratched up pretty badly. The color hue is my favorite shade, between dark orange and pale yellow. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Really turned out great. how long did the project take from inception to completion? Sent from my iPad 3 using Tapatalk HD
  8. I would think the carbon Diver Case would be more logical and also in higher demand as well. I would definitely be in fir a carbon Diver case with ceramic bezel. Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk HD
  9. That really ticks me off that they deleted the original thread, especially when there was OVER 95 people on the list, I hope things work out as I ALREADY sent funds to Big Crown.
  10. hey Z, I say you pop in a GEN movement on that AMAZING build and try to either custom build a dial to gen spec or get lucky with a gen dial cause that AWESOME case DESERVES it!!!! You have went above and beyond on this project sir and I salute you for that. BTW, gen AP movement can be bought for around $5k without problems. The dial would be the ONLY set back unless one could be custom made.
  11. There are LOTS of manufacturer's watches that use low-beat movements. Reliability is subjective. Patek Philippe, AP, Blancpain, and others use in-house movements which are low-beat (21,6k) so even if you prefer a high-beat movement, why would you want something different from the gen version. It is NOT an improvement in any way but it does make the rep differ from the gen in that regard.
  12. Just got this modded AP Diver V3 with an ETA 2846 low-beat and figured I would make a short vid to show the difference. IRL, the beat rate is MUCH MORE noticeable but I think you can still see the difference in the side by side comparasion. I purposely did not state which is which so you can determine the difference for yourself.
  13. I have 2 Divers (V3). I sent one off to get modded and am wearing the other. The one I currently have was given to my watch smith to change out the gaskets, re-press the crystal, and grease all the seals and gaskets before re-sealing it. It passed to 15 bar/ATM (150m) on a Lititz pressure tester.
  14. Would also be interested to know what you used as I will attempt to do the same to my Diver. Great job and looking forward to more info.
  15. I understand the poor build quality or assembly from the factory issue BUT due to the recent higher quality of the 1:1 builds coming out, why do reps STILL suffer from poor water resistance (pressure tested to depth)? For example, one could pick up a Seiko Monster or equivalent Orient Diver for around $150 and know 100% that the watch would function FLAWLESSLY and be FULLY water-resistant to its 200m claim. Even reps that get a service from a watch smith or modder RARELY pass a pressure test of 100m and most range from 50-70m, WTF?? The newer 1:1 builds look and feel amazing for the value but again I am shocked sometimes to see that a $150 Seiko, Orient, Citizen, or equivalent is still functionally SUPERIOR to reps costing 3-4 times MORE!! What gives, hope someone can enlighten me on this as logically it does not make any sense to me. Given the quality of the cases used and materials available today, I still do not understand why these reps suffer from such poor water-resistance capabilities (structural integrity). Any and all opinions welcome.
  16. @Rolexman Sorry, have not checked this message as I did not know how to subcribe to it via email notifier. Thank you for your response.
  17. I know there has been a LONG debate over which and why. What about if BOTH were serviced? Have a look at these options and please let me know what you think. 1. Serviced SW200 (+ $100) 2. Serviced Asian 2824 Another question is a serviced Asian 2824 still worse than, equivalent to, or better than a non-serviced SW200? I do not have any experience with Asian movements and I have already read through many of the debate threads without a clear answer so your thoughts would be appreciated.
  18. hi all, What are you thoughts on dealer servicing? I know its tough to think of the dealers offering this type of servicing for their watches but Angus at PT is offering this service and has hired a dedicated in-house watchsmith. We all know the hit and miss with these movements coming from the rep factories so I was wondering if it is worth the additional cost to make sure things are done right from the beginning. BTW, his service is $100 and that includes full teardown of movement with ultrasonic cleaning of parts + reassembly, regulation of movement to + or - 5 secs/day, and waterproofing (pressure test). Seems like a good bargain for the amount of work to be done BUT again we don't know if indeed it is being performed and to what extent and level of competence. I'm in touch with Angus and asked that his watchsmith send me detailed pics of the teardown of the movement and reassembly as I would like to post several reviews of the watches for others to see and help with their future decisions on purchases and also if they would like to have additional servicing. Guess I could be the guinea pig for others. I can see his point and vision of having a ONE STOP SHOP for the watches he offers as it would make things alot easier for people who are ordering to not have to ship there watches off after receiving them for further modding!! Would like to know your thoughts on if you guys think the servicing would be a good idea DIRECTLY from Angus or should and could a servicing be better performed by an aftermarket watch smith such as Domi, The Zigmeister, or Vac?
  19. Uwe is great ALTHOUGH he is currently having health and family problems. Actually he has had an AP Diver of mine for over 2 months and I CANNOT seem to contact him which is REALLY disturbing!!! Is anyone here in direct contact with Uwe who could ask him to contact me? Vac is also great but again he is in the CONUS and would be slightly more difficult for people from the EU.
  20. Like the title says, does anyone know if a rep Omega Ploprof box set exist and where to find it? Thanks.
  21. Would like to hear from the experts on which they think is the better made and more accurate rep? -- NF 243 -- HF 390 Which one and why? I know the NF 243 is NEW so not many examples out there to compare especially the 2nd batch. Anyways, interested to know even with the smaller of details and slight mods needed. Thanks.
  22. CDG actually stands for Cotes de Geneve decoration which Watchmeister already explained above
  23. No, Domi does NOT do the CDG plate. He ONLY does the addition of the screws to the dial (dial mod) BUT not the CDG plate. ONLY Sander was successful in doing that mod as of yet and I have not seen another with that mod on any of the boards since. I am sure it could be done from a competent watchmaker/modder but it seems to take ALOT of work and time which is why most will probably not take on the work UNLESS compensation was worth the frustration.
