My Super Hulk has a PbDad pearl now... photo thread

I'm on the road for work this week and next week, but I did manage to get home today for a bit and waiting in the mailbox for me was a new pearl for my Sub-C from PbDad. I spent a couple of minutes installing the pearl and taking some pics I've been meaning to take of this watch.

Original super-Hulk thread is here with build details.

PbDad pearl:

A few close-ups of it installed (I have not cleaned the glue off the bezel yet):

A "regular" shot of the watch, check out the black hole effect of the gen crystal, please forgive the dust.

At this point, I had a few minutes and I got to try something I've wanted to do for a while. I'm not the photographer that LHOOQ is, but I tried to reproduce some gen photographs, the stock stuff that Rolex puts out.

No, the color on the rep is pretty good actually. Part of it is that I'm no professional photographer, part of it is the

Iight (it was overcast) and part of it is that Rolex did a lot of editing to those pictures. The color balance is not natural in their pics.

Here's the gen (pic from watchuseek taken by an owner)

And here is my rep in the sunlight

This watch had a problem, the crown was too tall/thick

Other than that the crown was pretty nice, and a gen didn't fit the tube, and I didn't feel like messing with a tube change tonight.

So I chucked the crown up in the poor man's lathe:

put a sanding disc upside down in the dremel, and trimmed the bottom of the crown.

Took off about 1.1 mm. I think it's a big improvement.
