Guest jdmdohcpower
I just ordered andrew's new gmtII in black and red since the rep blue is not great. I have never had a rolex on my wrist so I dont know much about them. Where can I find a good new style blue / red insert that has the correct collors. Thanks Edited March 25, 2006 by jdmdohcpower

Guest jdmdohcpower
Thats great ifno, I now have a few questions: 1. My question about the insert, is that one above the correct one for the new style gmt2? 2. You spoke about polishing and oiling the bracelet on it, does it come that way from rolex or is that just to make it look better?? I feel lost becuase I have never even held a rolex. I understand that when I get it, I have to oil it and polish it. How did you oil it? Also I know how to polish it but does anyone know of any compounds that I can get in the US? I guess I just rub the hell out of it with the compound and that should do the trick. Would brasso work? I normally use brasso then cape cod. Is that a good or bad idea on this watch? Thanks for all the info. Edited March 26, 2006 by jdmdohcpower
By-Tor
Sorry, can't say anything about the new rep version. Maybe ask Joe? About polishing: Yep, rub the hell out of the bracelet with abrasive compound of it and give it back the brushed finish. Some tips: http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...topic=20326&hl= http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...showtopic=18411
Chronus
By-Tor has links from his write-up on his GMT-Master II which shows how to clean and polish the bracelet. As for whether it's the correct insert, I'm not sure any more. Since I decided against a GMT-Master until there is a reliably independent hour hand change, I have been out of the loop on that one. Good luck!
