Yep, a sticky ball, or duct tape will sometimes open them.. Sometimes a rubber glove works as well! But not always however.

And certainly not if they have been properly sealed using the correct tool!

Which means you will never properly seal one with these makeshift tools either.

Spend the money for the correct tool for the job. And save on the rebuild when it has filled with water because it wasn't closed correctly.
