gt rider
I'm fairly new to repairs and I can't seem to find a good tutorial online on how to take apart some watches. I'm starting to work on mostly 21j watches and some quartz and I would like to clean both sides of the glass, remove the stem and things of the like. Can anyone help me on how to remove a stem so I can take out the movement and clean it up? Thanks!
Nanuq
Usually there's a tiny screw or pushbutton on the movement right where the stem is inserted. Read the tutorials here, it is remarkably easy to booger it up. Ask me how I know......
FxrAndy
Ditto If you are serious about learning to work on watches be prepared to break a few, I would recoment the TZ online watch course for a couple of hundred bucks, but most of the tutorials here will help you. davylloyd
My prediction is that shortly after you learn how to remove the stem, you'll be learning how to repair the keyless works But don't be discouraged, there's so much pleasure to be had in working on your own watches. Read the tutos, ask questions, take your time, and learn from your mistakes.
