aeromatic Posted October 4, 2012 Report Share Posted October 4, 2012 Well on order is a 6538 case and a tudor rose dial (round markers) and snowflake gold handset from raffles and a harley davison insert . guess what this watch will be based on? This is not meant to be an exact replica of it but more like a homage to the tudor homage, but dare i say a little bit more vintage looking. this will be powered by an early 1970s 2783 eta which is only one digit away from a tudor 2784 eta (ok lets see if you experts can tell me the difference between 2783 and 2784 eta ! aeromatic Posted October 15, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 15, 2012 Well dial arrived today very glossy one too! case, gold snowflake hands and jubilee bracelet and harley insert has got tied up with there national holidays so small delay! as i said its not going to be an exact replica of the black bay as im using a sterile raffles 6538 case ! still undecided whether to fit the snowflake hands or fit guilt merc hands so i have ordered both ! Raffles sterile 6538 case option number 1 or case helenarou 6538 i like this case but it has a saphire crystal and the insert is unique to the case so i may not be able to find a red/brown insert to fit ! one of the straps that will be fitted is this raffles sterile jubelee bracelet inserts from rafflestime 6538 red coke Or harley davison brown insert movement will be a 2824-2 or a 70s 2783 eta with yuki tudor rotor and raffles snowflake hands hope they come in white lume and not as shown in there photo anyway gives the general idea of the build just waiting for the delayed shipping for parts this will be a homage to the black bay but with a more vintaged flavor leaning more towards the vintage big crown no guard subs Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have just got my parts the raffles gold snowflake hands are white and seem to match there tudor rose dial but i can confirm it better tomorrow in daylight the raffles case is for sure a carlel case complete with 5508 and switzerladn printing but fitted with a sterile crown i decided to use the helenarou case for my build this case is much better that the cartel and more suited to my (Free) homage black bay this order includes the harley davison dial this is more of a brandy brown colour than the bays red burgandy just temperary fitted the dial is the helenarou 6538 and the raffles insert fits ok i was worried about the fitting i will fit the harley and wait till the coke insert arrives and see if i like it better with the coke red insert actually the harley colour seems to suite the guilt dial nicely the jubelee raffles bracelet does not fit well in the helen case i will post some pics tomorrow ! i would like to see your build too ! Putting in a 2824 eta 25 jewel. So we are similar. I am interested to see how it looks with the black bezel. I may just keep it black. we shall see. I am still thinking I may go with a mesh band or the distressed leather like the bb. Please post a teaser pic. with your set up. I really want to see how she is looking. This watch is a keeper for sure ! thanks to my good friend Andreas (georgeloiz) watchmaker for helping me put this project together ! and thanks for using your wrist for the photo no copyright intended ! specs are ruhelena (helenarou) 6538 (sterile case) fitted with saphire crystal AR on the underside pressure rated at 100m (tested to 150m) rafflestime harley davison insert ( i may fit a coke red or if i can find a burgandy red insert) rafflestime tudor rose gloss dial rafflestime gold snowflake hands gen 2824-2 movement yuki tudor shield rotor Remarks : very heavy case and very well finished no case mods were done and the case weighed about the same as my 6538 cartel build without the tudor movement fitted ! Catergory: tudor black bay influenced (not meant to be an exact replica so is it custom?
