whoever
Ok.....some silence here..... let me be more specific: i'm going to have an 13h stay at Guangzhou, and i wonder if it's worth it to leave for the watch market or not? Is it far from the airport ( i guess so, but with a cab ride? ) Thanks for any information cheers
KB
I'm sorry I do have a sales rep based in Gaungzhou and I put both your questions to her. She could not recommend a restaurant for a tourist because she and her family only ate in the local kind that you would find unsuitable. As to the watch markets she said (as we already know) that they are near the train station. In fact a search on this forum will give you better details, including on at least one occasion a hand drawn map. Ken
lhooq
whoever: I had one meal at Guangzhou, and it was terrible. If you're going to GZ from, say, Shanghai or Hong Kong, I suggest you pack a lunch! You could try contacting offshore, and ask if he has any recommendations. With a little luck, you might even get another great story out of him.
KB
Actually I second that, offshore has traveled to, and stayed in Gaungzhou on a number of occasions. Ken

Ken Thanks Ken, i'm actually sure their home cooked meals are 100% better than all street restaurants.....i remember Beijing and Hong Kong where i was a couple of years ago and the food was great, once you knew where you had to go! I tried to find the post about the market, couldn't find the one i think a member posted, i'm not sure. I'll try to look once again....but as we know, the RWG search function is not the best working tool here The meal thing is actually secondary, i mostly want to have the look at the market! whoever: I had one meal at Guangzhou, and it was terrible. I'm doing some Asia-hopping, no chinese inland traveling, just passing through, and i really hope i can find my vintage Blancpain FF.....maybe i can even contact my favorite seller and they show me around? I don't know if they are shy or not? edit: just found the map! search tool DOES function!
