chronology1066
Hi All I need some help. I have been wearing the DLC (V1 I think) and it has been getting progressively more stripped and now the crown refuses steadfastly to stay closed. Can anyone suggest someone that can rid me of this turbulent priest (rem, I mean threaded crown issue). I am UK based so a smithy in the UK would be preferable. I think Domi was pretty snowed last time I contacted him. Chairs in advance L
Rolexman
Imo the only two options are to source a new crown-tube combo (unlikely) or just shorten the stem so that the crown sits flat against the case when pushed in. In most cases this even does not effect water resistance. The last is a small and cheap fix for every watch maker.

AstroAvia
Well, this is a very late reply, but hopefuly it will serve as a record for future reference. I bought an AP with a stripped crown tube, and solved the issue by pulling the crown tube out a few millimeters, as if removing it from the case. I pulled the tube just enough to give the crown enough room to catch the threads on the tube again. It solved my issue.
