gmtlover Posted February 2, 2013 Author Report Posted February 2, 2013 This is the noobversion that is just released ;-)
xelorrolex Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 New quality control pictures, looks like an improvement to me, but I wonder if I should accept? Cyclops is not perfectly aligned but I think it is a step up from the first watch. Lume seems to be a bit poorer on this one though. Date seems to be a bit low in the window but I don't really care about that. @ Superbia: Nice Exp ! If I was you I'd jump on it ! Where does it come from ? Xel
gmtlover Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 Ok guys.. I did it.. I ordered a white one.. Time to expand my one piece collection
Archetypal Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Finally! Pics please GMT. I have the black one now...Shiny dial is a shame, but great to have the pair. Fav is the polar for sure, the contrast and pop of the black hands and indices out of the white dial is too nice..... 1
gmtlover Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 When I receive I will for sure do a little write up.. Even though there have been done many since starting this topic ;-)
gmtlover Posted February 11, 2013 Author Report Posted February 11, 2013 Are all TD's selling the same one?
Archetypal Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 There are several models around, just ensure its the noob version. Compared to the noob, the others are of a lesser accuracy, so QC pics should confirm if you've any doubts.
gmtlover Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 I am buying it from sead, he sells the noob so should be fine..
Archetypal Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Sounds like you are good to go. Buzzing I bet! I doubt you'll be dissapointed...there is so much to love about this one.
Randy Pangborn Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Would love to get veteran's view on the "Waterproof to 30m... Pressure Tested at Factory Level" claim on Trusty's - and assume other - sites:. 1) yep, waterproof...leave as is 2) maybe, pay USD 50 extra for the TD to test for you or 3) none of the above! Send it to Uwe or someone else for the piece of mind. Any new owner experiences from their first weeks/days? Thanks much.
gmtlover Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 Still have to pay but sead is not very fast in giving his payment information. Money is ready haha

Go with choice three, when I got mine the case back was so loose I could open it with my fingers. So the design might be capable of WR to 3atm or more but until its been tested don't count on it. I am probably going to send mine off to get a mvmt service and will get WR testi g at that point. Curious to hear if anyone has had it tested and the results, but would think it will pass 3atm if closed tightly.
gmtlover Posted February 13, 2013 Author Report Posted February 13, 2013 payment is done! now waiting for QC and shipping. But shipping shouldn't take long since the watch is already in the UK!
gmtlover Posted February 19, 2013 Author Report Posted February 19, 2013 Ok I have received mine! Looks good so far! Just 5 min out of it package.. It winds and sets very smooth. Will post a full review with pics tomorrow. Here a side by side with my modded BK DSSD.
gmtlover Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 Ok, gmt hand isn't working..:-(
jpz5142 Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Not working at all or not keeping time correctly? Remember to pull the crown all the way out to the 3rd position and back all the way in after setting the time. I was having problems with my EXPII until I read that part and it was all better after that.
gmtlover Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 I think it was just that, was playing with the stem.. Now it works
Stephane Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Hey guys, Nice thread. Any new update on the black dial one? Anybody got a Noob with black dial recently? Cheers Stephane
gmtlover Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 No not on the dial itself still shiny, but the lume and alignment of the cyclops seems to be better lately.
cousin_hub Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) Hi I asked Andrew of TrustyT if he could have the Noob version it and this is his answer : "Sorry but I dont sell the Noob one... Their service back up sucks big time and they are about to close down soon after clearing stocks. Andrew" What do you think ? Edited March 15, 2013 by cousin_hub
correctime Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Great looking pics here....enjoyed the read. I've been watching the 216570's since they hit the market. No doubt they've made some improvements along the way. To me, the first thing I notice (and everyone else likely does too) when I look at the watch is the date. (a magnifying cyclop over it tends to draw attention) If they could just get that damn date centered and aligned I'd likely pull the trigger on a Black one.
997 s Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 Hi On the gen the orange Explorer text looks to have a more intense orange color than the rep Is that correct? P
