Werlynne
This is a newbies short review of two watches bought from Joshua. Most people her are quite knowledgeable about replica watches so I will leave the detailed opinions to more qualified people. I was not sure where to post this but as I am a newbie I thought general discussion was appropriate. Reasons for purchase. A friend of mine bought a JLC from Joshua and he told me about the replica site. I have had a likeness for watches for many years but I have never been able to afford one of the top brands. I decided to look at some of Joshua’s lower priced models as it was my first purchase. I was not interested in the brand but decided to just look at watches I liked. As you all know the choice was endless. After about ten days of looking I picked two that I liked, A Breguet and a Lange. The Breguet is rose gold with a white dial and the Lange Stainless Steel with a black dial. I am attaching Joshua’s QC pictures as I am not a good photographer. Both watches were $148 plus delivery which was my maximum budget per watch. The watches arrived about 8 days after payment. My experience with Joshua was very good, he answered a few questions quickly. I agree that he is reliable and there is a low risk of any major problem with his goods. The Breguet. This is the model and specification as per Joshua’s site. http://www.1-pc8838.com/br00056-retrogating-daydate-tourbillon-rgle-white-asian-2813-p-12267.html I have absolutely no idea if this is a replica of a real Breguet or just one of similar style. ....... In the spirit off so to speak. My impression is that it is a watch that I just like the style and look of. The day and date both work and are adjusted by pushers in the side. As for the quality, firstly the strap is quite poor but it does have a Breguet logo on the deployment clasp. The watch itself looks attractive, the rose gold is attractive but the ribbed sides would be sharper and cleaner on a quality watch but the overall effect is quite good. To me it does have what I call wrist appeal. The Asian 2813 Automatic movement is quite noisy and I am a little disappointed with that even for the price. The Lange This is the model and specification as per Joshua’s site. http://www.1-pc8838.com/al00102-lange-power-reserve-black-asia-working-p-10823.html My view of this watch is quite similar to the Breguet. The movement is the same, the Asia 2813 Automatic but on this watch there is far more winding noise, the swivel rotor that can be seen on the back sounds like it is catching the watch case as it spins round. This is more annoying and I am sure if I sent it back Joshua would fix it, but noise is not worth the postage! I think a local watchmaker could gently file down the rotor a fraction if it really annoys me. General conclusions. I discovered this forum after I had ordered the watches, if I knew then what I know now I would have made different choices, mainly because I would be more confident with the supplier. Now the watches, I am not a watch expert but I can easily tell that they are not genuine. My general opinion is quite positive and I feel I have had good value for money. The sharpness of the dials, detail quality of the cases and straps is just not there. However, for the price that was paid I really do think that they are fair value overall. My advice to fellow newbies making a first purchase is to select a watch with a better movement as I do think the noise when self-winding is a problem. Do I regret my purchase? No, I like the look of both the watches when they are on my wrist. I fully understand that you can’t compare a $148 watch to something that costs many thousands of Dollars. As my friend says, “Real from afar, but far from real” I will buy from Joshua again and as I am more confident with him. I will probably spend a bit more and buy something with a better movement, I will be more selective with the strap, I would prefer either a watch with a quality replica strap or one with a standard buckle that can easily be put on a decent strap. Some of Joshua’s more expensive replicas do look better quality and I will ask advice from the forum before buying next time. I have learnt a lot just browsing here. Thank you all. If anyone has any questions I am happy to reply.
