By-Tor
Someone posted this link at TRC. Looks like Bond is wearing the good old SMP too:
chris5264
bond is totally my antipersonality, I can't help but be into it, probably the reason I bought my first gen seamaster. Any idea if the black 45 PO with the 007 seconds hand will ever be rep'd?
Alextor
Nice ad By-Tor...I know you are an Omega fan... Interestingly someone told me that during the movie...Mr Bond was asked if he wore an expensive watch like a Rolex and he replied "no, I wear an Omega"... Talk about product placement... ...funny thing is ...this is a prequel of the 007 series...and the character is tough, with an assassin like demeanor and attitude...just like Ian Fleming depicted him in the books...(where he invariably wore a Rolex Sub and drove a Bent) ...Daniel Craig commented on this on an interview (I think it was pbs) and after the word Rolex flew out of his mouth ... he gasped for air trying to bring the word back in Cheers Alex
By-Tor
Lol...that's funny Alex. I wouldn't mind Bond wearing a Sub, either. I think the new Co-Axial Seamaster retails at $3K+ and sells for $2.3K. Not good news for the Omega fans. You can still buy the old (non-coaxial movement) Bond Seamaster for $1.5K though. I think I'll eventually grab a preowned genuine, it's definitely one of my favourite watches.

stevethebest
Is that a fact??! I hope not! How can anybody wear something ... in a book? The possibility is that Ian wrote the words (Rolex, Submariner, ... Bentley) in the book, but I think this is not very probable. Sincerely I did not read the book, probably this is one of the rare cases in which the filmed version is better than the written one!
stevethebest
What do you think of the new Bond? Personally I think this is the less attractive in the character's long history
Pugwash
The possibility is that Ian wrote the words (Rolex, Submariner, ... Bentley) in the book, but I think this is not very probable. He states "Rolex Oyster" in the book.
