16800 Insert on 1665?

Hi Guys,

 

I think I have sourced a gen insert for my 1665, but the insert originally came froma 16800, will it fit the 1665?

It won't fit and the pearl is wrong for a 1665- like E says- don't do it!

Depending on the condition of the insert, the best thing to do is flip it around here and use the funds for a correct 1665.

Isn't a 1665 an early Sea Dweller ??  If so, a 16800 insert won't fit. The Submariner crystal is about 1mm larger

You are right, they aren't compatible. Size wise and pearls are totally different.

1665 => "Fat font" insert, if you want to stay "original"

 

You can also look for thin font 1680 inserts if you want to spend less. Or service ones

 

5 digits inserts will not fit (Sapphire models, not the same caliber)
