ratnick
Amongst my bits and pieces I have a 25J Mido Multifort that was new when I got it 5 years back. I'm thinking about stepping out of it and am considering my options. I keep it mostly for business travel where a timepiece has to pass muster in a suit, handle the shallow end of the pool and humidity. Can anyone recommend a replacement? Keen to know if such reps exist. I know I have shiny kit syndrome, but any advice appreciated - thanks
sneed12
No idea what you are asking. Are you asking if there reps of the Mido Multifort? I'm thinking no, since the low-end Swiss brands (Mido, Fortis, Longines etc) rarely get repped and I've never seen one, but I wouldn't be hugely surprised if I were wrong either. Are you asking if there are waterproof reps you can wear with a suit? The answer is yes, thousands of them. I've dived with many reps. ratnick
Thanks. To clarify, I'm looking for a waterproof rep for travel. Care to recommend one/some?
sneed12
There are literally thousands of good choices, you'll have to be more specific than that.
FxrAndy
Well the list is endless but one thing for sure if you want to swimm with it get it checked, but reps Can be water proof, but dont trust the supplier If you are in the EU then i can test it for you. one tip go for a sports watch with no chrono, 90% of the rolex 70% of the IWC, there is just too many to list
BigBuys
Another good choice would be the TAG 500M non chrono and the Breitling Abyss non chrono.
ratnick
All, thanks for the replies and apologies for being a bit vague. It occurred to me that there might be some reps better known for thier resistance to moisture. I have had a few reps die young through moisture ingress. They are never quite the same after a repair - seems reps don't get no respect with a lot of watch repairers.
