machete Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 I've received the gen dial and hands today from Hugo. Planned on sending it and the watch to one of the modders (goin or vac) to get it assembled, as well as waterproofing and movement servicing and maybe regulating it too. Was wondering any of you did any mod on the AR? What about getting it relumed? Both of this will cost a bomb, and not sure if any of you did it and felt it was worth it? The watch currently already has some ar coating and lume... Thanks in advance for your thoughts or inputs!
seafoam Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 What did you pay for the Gen dial and hands if you you don't mind me asking?
machete Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 290 euros, inclusive of shipping You can buy another good rep with that kind of money Sent from my GT-I9100G using Tapatalk 2
ryaku Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 I've received the gen dial and hands today from Hugo. Do you think it would be possible to have some comparison macro shots? It would be great to see differences between gen and rep dial. Thanks in advance
whitestripes Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 just curious - what are the tells on the v2 dial? I think it's essentially super rep territory. maybe the minute indices could be a bit thicker. i dnt think you'd ever be called out with the v2
thealphabeta Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 I think the hands are a giveaway personally. In certain light they just don't look right in my opinion
machete Posted February 8, 2013 Author Report Posted February 8, 2013 Yes Dave, i have the same opinion too. The hands and 3,6,9 and 12 are off white in color and these are the lume portions. The gen has the same shade of white across its dial and hands. The wordings on the gen dial is also a stronger and more pronounced white. Sent from my GT-I9100G using Tapatalk 2
whitestripes Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Interesting... I handled the gen a few years a go bit did not notice. Would love some comparison pics!
thealphabeta Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Agreed machete. The off white in certain light does not look great in my eyes. Other light you can't notice but it does bother me
ryaku Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Who is Hugo? one of the few who can source gen IWC parts, Hugo Alves or Hacra is the forum username. Not sure he's still interested to sell gen IWC parts though Yeah, I agree, comparison shots would be greatly appreciated. Edited February 8, 2013 by ryaku

seafoam Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 290 euros, inclusive of shipping You can buy another good rep with that kind of money Sent from my GT-I9100G using Tapatalk 2 Yikes! Should look nice though.
ryaku Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 No chance to have few comparison pics?
machete Posted February 18, 2013 Author Report Posted February 18, 2013 I will post the comparison pics once the watch is returned from Vac (together with the rep dial). I've already snap the pics of the gen dial and will merge the pics side by side (rep vs gen), using the same camera white balance, shutter speed, lighting. 1
