16520 bent hand, recoverable ?

Hey RWG,

 

I just received a 16520 hand set, but the chrono seconds hand is really bent, probably due to a bad shipping

 

I think a good WM can recover this, but I'm not 100% sure

 

What do you think ?

 

It will bother me a lot if I have to buy another hand...

benting back into shape would be a piece of cake...I usually use a small pair of needlenose pliers with some masking tape rapped around the jaws to prevent marring of the hand.  Then slowly straighten it back out. by using the pliers as a "press" so to say

Lay the hand upside down on something firm, like a piece of thin cardboard, take a small piece of wood, like a cuticle remover that Im sure your wife uses. Then gently, very gently, roll it up the hand appling soft presure over the bend. Ck it and repeat as much as needed to remove the kink

Looks fixable to me.  That particular hand is a tough one to get to fit to a generic El Primero however.

However, I'll let my WM do the job, I'm pretty sure he will do better in 10 seconds than me in 30 minutes !!!
