Sweeping Hand Question

witch

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have a DDSD & the new 45mm CRPO both from Andrew  the DDSD is an Asian clone & the Omega is Swiss both should sweep at 28800bph, now to me it seems that the Rolex sweep is smoother but is that just because it has a thinner sweep hand compared to the Omega which is alot thicker and more noticable , has anyone else noticed this. The new PO is a beauty by the way.

both the 2836 and 2824 (swiss and clones) are 28,800 movements, the a2813 (typically refered as 21jby the TD's) is a 21600. Both gen Rolex and Omega models you have are in the same 28800 beat.  If you bought the high beat then either its your eyes/mind playing tricks on you or the movements are dirty and could benifit froma cleaning and service. If a mvmt (swiss or asian or gen for that matter) is dirty and fouled up it will not behave correctly.

I have the Asian 2813-2 Automatic Movement in my sub from TT, and on the timegrapher it was showing 21600 Beat Rate, and the sweep is much more jumpy that my swiss etc 2836-2's sweep for sure.
