vmena
Well, I'm not an expert at all on building watches or touching movements, but after buying the datejust 15000 originally from repaustria, I decided to try to build a datejust two tone, and I've just got (won) at ebay a genuine 16013 case with dial and plastic crystal. Update on Dec 7th: pics of the case, crystal and dial.
ubiquitous
Hmmmm... Aside from color, the crown in the auction is correct for a DJ- 6mm Twinlock. For a 16013, you'll want an SS crown, not 18k. As for movements... In my opinion, color makes no difference as long as the movement is a true ETA. With proper servicing, either color runs fine. Ubi... the 16013 is a two tone datejust, so I guess the crown must be gold... isn't? Also the date overlay with a gold background also... BTW, any idea where to find date overlays with rolex font for ETA 2824? Thanks.
ubiquitous
Ahhh. Yes. You are correct. For date overlay, you can always get a gold tone from luenfat?

indyberetta
What date wheel would you use if you were using a gen Rolex dial and an ETA 2824-2 movement? I heard that the date wheel will not line up with the date hole on a gen Rolex dial unless you use one that is offset for this project? Any help with this? ubiquitous
The luenfat datewheel overlay mentioned above will allow proper alignment using a genuine dial. On mine, I used the overlay from my noobmariner, since it was left over after building my frankensub... Essentially the same concept, except the noobmariner's font is inline with modern.
