astonjenks
Does the 24 Hour hand work properly? It's supposed to be in sync with the hour hand. (it should point to 5 or 17 in that photo) Jkay It does indeed work properly and I set it to my local, UK time and randomly setting the GMT hand, you can set it to whatever time difference you want and it will show you that time continually. Obviously I do not want to show GMT time as the GMT hand would constantly be covered. AJ

Only the replica allows you to independently adjust this hand. It's an utterly devastating tell. I just thought you should know.

I just thought you should know. according to Rolex you can set a second time zone with it. 24-Hour Bezel Function of the Explorer II On expeditions, the Explorer II can also be used to display the time in two time zones. Local time is shown by the conventional hour hand, while the time in a second time zone can be read off the graduated bezel using the 24-hour hand. The 12-hour hand can be set independently via the winding crown, jumping from hour to hour without changing the minute and seconds hands in order to preserve accurate timekeeping. astonjenks
Thanks for confirming this Joe, as far as I know every GMT watch made can be adjusted to use as a second time zone reading which is exactly as I use it. Regards AJ

Jkay
Thanks for confirming this Joe, as far as I know every GMT watch made can be adjusted to use as a second time zone reading which is exactly as I use it. Regards AJ Ok, I honestly had no idea that the new Explorer II allows a GMT function. The Explorer II model 1655 does not do this. The watch was designed to be and was billed as an explorer's watch, and the orange hand is for cave explorers and under-sea immersion divers to know if it is day or night. Frankly, Rolex makes GMT watches, and has for decades... why include a GMT function on the Explorer
