M5Man
Pricey but man that would add a level of genuineness to your Vintage rollie http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=
thewightstuff
except that as far as my limited knowledge of 1665 goes (im a 55xx man myself) the 1665 doesnt share the same part no for the bezel as the 5512 and 5513. the inside edge of the insert on the 1665 reaches the start of the superdome curve on every gen 1665 ive seen and theres no way my gen 5512 bezel would do this on one of the massive tropic 39s though i stand to be corrected if there some other jigery pokery at work here and they are the same after all
thewightstuff
maybe he meant to type 1655 to show that it would fit the old GMT

ubiquitous
The 1665 bezel to me has always seemed like the profile of... Well, a crown! Hence making the vintage SD, in my eyes, the king.
thewightstuff
now thats a bezel nanuq. i feel so inadequite now with my 5512. i was only joking about the 1655 however sarcasm is often wasted with the typed word somehow. turned out to have been worth it though as i never knew that about the 1655 bezel. ubi, id never thought of it like that before. it gave me a good old laugh
eunomians
'Tis true, I think the 1665 is the vintage king. This is partially due to serious heft.
docblackrock
Funny, I get the crown imagery, but personally I see it as less regal and due to it's heft I like to think of it as the Ray Winstone of vintage tool Rollies (Ray would probably get the part if Pixar made a animation about watches, yeah I know....unlikely ) Just imagine putting it next to the Sub, say a 5513 or even a 1680 and you can hear it speak in a gravelly voice "yeah, who's the Daddy NOW?"
