47mm Egi

Recommended Posts

I had a DSN 52mm egi and loved the way it looked, the proportions are great, it's just the entire watch was generally too big for my wrist.\

So I took a stock 47mm and converted it to a more gen like appearance .

Bezel rounded/ markers rounded / polished

Smaller crown guard

Case reshaped heavily to fit cg

Custom dial/ redrilled dial dots bigger

Plated hands silver to match case

Bigger secs hand

Gunny MI3 strap/ if you've never had a gunny you are missing out.

Few pics of mods and final watch.

Now this is really really impressive, good work!! :clap:The reshape and smaller cg makes this come to life, oh how I wish these could be found otb like this! The dot dial and the strap then just sets it off, drool!

Thanks! It was a lot of work, but worth it, I agree the smaller cg changes the whole watch!

That is some stunning creativity! You got yourself a unique piece of art. Wear it in good health!

I'm happy with the final result, thankyou :)

@Dlf: you can't receive pm right now, so trying to write here :)

Hi mate.
I have seen your work over the 47mm Egi and I have been really impressed. Recently I got a nice Molnija 3601 and I was thinking to build something around it.
I am still deciding between a B-Uhr pilot or a mini Egi. Both have pro&cons: an Egi build would be more challenging and the parts probably more difficult to find, but I like it more...
May I ask you where did you managed to find a 47mm Egi stock with the correct dial? I couldn't find in any of our TDs (and I don't want to use a 54mm one, way to big...). And did it come with an Asian 6487 or with some other movement? Also, is it a glass case back?
Thanks for now, Alex
