TJAPhotography Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Hi my wife has a Rep Datejust and when purchased the clasp was fairly tight and closed and opened well however over time it seems to have gotten loose and now opens if she so much as blows on the rolex crown on the clasp, is there a cure or repair for this that anyone knows about?
freddy333 Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Try this 1st, but note that a slight change makes a big difference. Too much bend will make the clasp difficult to open If bending the leaf fails to tighten the clasp, try bending these tabs with a pair of smooth-jawed needlenose plyers (cover the metal with tape before bending so you do not scratch the finish) 1
TJAPhotography Posted October 5, 2013 Author Report Posted October 5, 2013 The clasp is different on her Datejust however it did work the bending trick, i have attached a pic of her clasp
mymanmatt Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 Same principal. Slightly bend the skinny side. When she closes it, use a rolling motion instead of pushing straight down. 1
