My friend has asked me to find out if this part of a rolex movement is a useful part he wants to put for sale on ebay but has no idea on an asking price or if its a /useful part all i know is it has been in his fathers watch bits n pieces for 30 plus years ! most parts are missing ,

 

If anyone can give any advice it will be appreciated ! i have no idea from what model it is from so here are some photos

That looks like an early A296 or A260 movement, like Freddy used in his Turn-o-graph build.  :cc_detective:

Exactly. Circa late 40s through early 60s.

It is difficult to place a value on a partial movement like this, since, as most of us long-timers well know, the sky is the limit when it comes to vintage Rolex. Especially, if the right buyer comes along. But, realistically, as-is, unless you are willing to hold it ad infinitum, I would price it at around $300 & accept anything over $100.
