Hello guys, i was so unlucky today so i broke the steam on my watch. I am thinking of buying gen crown, and a new steam but what steam should i buy? Gen one? Is the crown 7mm on this one? Look at the pic.

You'd be hard pressed to find a YM dial for much less then he has it listed for.  iRolexu is a great guy, if you're in the market for one he's the one to buy it from!

It looks like just the stem broke. A new stem is ~$3.

 

Not telling you not to buy a gen crown if you want one, but it doesn't look like there's anything at all wrong with your crown and this is a repair that can be done in under 10 minutes with under $5 worth of parts.

Looks like the stem has broken off inside the movement looking at the thread on whats left of it.  If you can't extract the broken part out of the movement, by facing the tube down, and gent ally tapping the watch case, you are going to need to strip the keyless down to get the broken part out my friend.

I know that gen dials not come around too often, but the dial on this one isnt so bad.

As mentioned, don't try and insert a new stem if there is still a small broken part of the old stem in there.  Make sure this broken part is removed before even trying to fit a new stem.

Iknow. I will part out the movement from the case, so i can Get to the broken parts inside

It doesn't matter about what watch style it is.  The stem needs to be one that is made for the movement you have.  If it is ETA movement, just search eBay for a winding stem for ETA 2824-2 or 2836-2.  They are all the same.  If the movement is a Chinese made movement then you would need a stem for a...DG 2813, most likely.  The most worrisome thing is getting the length right.  They all come much too long and have to be clipped down to fit just right. 

 

The job can be easy or it can be rather difficult.  Rebuilding the keyless works (which you will probably have to do) involves:

 

Uncasing the movement

Removing the hands

Removing the dial and then...

Resetting the keyless works.

 

I have photos if you need them.

 

If you have never done it, it is a good experience if you ever want to service your own movement.

Its a ETA 2824-2, bought one on ebay for 4 dollars. Thank u for all the info. Pictures would be Nice, if u want to send them to me?

I think changing of the stem would be a ok job for me.

Probably not. If you uncase the movement, and remove the stem like normal using a pair of tweezers or pliers, it should just come out. No reason to think the keyless is messed up just because the stem broke.

 

Better question is why the stem broke--the usual reason is sideways pressure on the stem due to incorrect stem height for the case. If this is true, the next one's just going to break too.
