flofas
Hey guys, I just bought myself my first replica, having a respectable collection of genuine Rolex & Breitling watches. More or less a try-out of the watch, trying to see if it's a design I'd like to live with, before spending €18,000 on one. I bought if from Trusty and it's his HBB 0239 watch, (Big Bang Rose Gold Ceramic Black A-7750). I believe it's the new v6 version, correct me if I'm wrong ( http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=279_280&products_id=9455 ). QR pics: http://imgur.com/a/erIzf . It's one of those "Made with genuine fully dissected - 1:1 replication" reps. I'm actually impressed with it, there are only very minor twirks that would make you understand it's a replica, and that, only in good light situations and probably only comparing it with the original. I have to state that the bezel does not have a blue tint, it's actually super clear. I assume they are now sourcing different crystals, so possibly ,every v6 made from now on will have such a good glass. I got a friend that has a Hublot Aero Bang, he did check out the watch from the back as well, and he didn't even ask if it's a rep. Although I have to say this was done in a night club with bad lighting and the guy was not wearing his Hublot at the time. This is such a good rep that makes the genuine watch price look silly, at least to people having no idea about quality watches. In case the following can be corrected or modded out, I guess this rep is a winner: 1) The top ("ceramic") part of the case has the side-teeth 'pattern' completely wrong. The V1 case has this pattern almost spot on. Does anyone know if this model's top part can be replaced with a V1 top case, provided that this can be sourced out? Has anyone done this?2) The buttons and crown feel really cheap to fiddle with, at least compared to my other automatic watches. I have no experience on a real Hublot to compare though, so that might be OK. I guess the movement has to be replaced in order for that to change. 3) The movement looks quite convincing if you don't have a good memory and remember the exact dimensions and relative sizes of parts and gears. The 'HUBLOT GENEVE' writing on the winder is not engraved though. I think I've seen a HBB rep version where the winder's font was closer to the original and it was engraved, although it did need a bit of sanding down to really look the part. I can't find the thread right now though.4) The strap will obviously be replaced, although I have no idea where to look into first. I would buy the original strap and locking mechanism in case they are worth it.5) Is it me, or is the date window a tad off by almost half a mm? I guess this is the best that can be done on an asian 7750 Vaijoux though. In case someone has bought the new v6 from any trusted dealer and has experience with reps and mods, I guess his input in this thread would be greatly appreciated. Let's start making this version of v6 the new v1 P.S. Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics, if anyone wants DSLR pics under good lighting of the watch it's really easy for me to do.
martijnp
Great looking watch you got here. Must say that the Hublot Big Bang V6 are very close to gen. I've got two V6 (stainless steel and rose gold, check my signature for pictures ) Buy yourself a H screwdriver and screw the bezel off the watch and put for example the V1 bezel or a genuine back on it. Further those details are typical rep flaws, these little things aren't bothering me but if it bothers you, you'll might be better off with a genuine Hublot. But you should question yourself, are these little things worth all that money? Edited November 7, 2013 by martijnp
zero_deficit
The v6 can only take gen strap, clasp and bezel (but apparently not very easy to put on). Gen parts must also be sourced on ebay or something like that as Hublot require your WISEkey when ordering anything from them. Also AFAIK, v1 parts are not interchangeable with v6 only mods most people do are Mikey's Ti screws and gen rubber strap, otherwise the v6 is already really good out of the box. Mikey2008
re-glue the rubber parts! Someone on the geek did a tutorial where he removed the crown rubber and sanded down the height so it sits more flush inside the crown. use loctite 222 (or low strangth threadlock) on all the screws! Out of box a lot of screws are loose and will drop out! The v1 bezels will fit the V6. Enjoy your nice watch.
hew1
Very nice watch. For the strap, the rubber tire tread honestly is the worst all of the rep Hublot straps in my experience. The lined rubber is very nice, and the croco gummy is OK. If you're looking for something leather or croco I'd recommend Donerix/Hamilton Leather Works.
