jayely1 Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 Just wondering if someone on the forum does that kind of stuff or the price to do it?
FxrAndy Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 what rep movement? swiss movement? gen movement? do you have a problem with the current movement?
jayely1 Posted December 24, 2013 Author Report Posted December 24, 2013 Oh duh, sorry..I have a good movement, just curious how much a GEN would be.
ogladio Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 Would it be worth those $$$$ behind that closed caseback having something that's functionally more or less the same?
jayely1 Posted December 24, 2013 Author Report Posted December 24, 2013 I was just curious, I see a lot of people on this forum have Gen movements..Maybe the Pam movements are more than most?? Isn't some people who make gen like movements on this forum as well?
chris5264 Posted December 25, 2013 Report Posted December 25, 2013 can always find a swiss 6497 for around 200 (usd) and exchange the movement...This is the same basic movement that panerai uses,,,,at least they start with this.....actually read some of the models even had plain,,unfinished unitas movements in them and customers were furious.....For under 200 could have sense that its at least a swiss movement.....
jayely1 Posted December 25, 2013 Author Report Posted December 25, 2013 I believe mine is swiss, it's a ETA 6497-1 with Incabloc. Is that a good movement???
ogladio Posted December 25, 2013 Report Posted December 25, 2013 Well, as the oem 005N movement just sold on VP for (listed price) $1600 I guess there you have the answer to the question in the OP
ogladio Posted December 25, 2013 Report Posted December 25, 2013 I believe mine is swiss, it's a ETA 6497-1 with Incabloc. Is that a good movement??? The Panerai OP II calibre (afaik what is still used in the 005s) is based on the ETA 6497-2 movement. The most quoted difference between the -1 and the -2 is that the latter has a beat rate of 21.6kbph (as opposed to 18kbph). There are many differences between all these named movements, but I'd say they're subtle... I would be happy with your movement!
