Should i stay or should i go. Gen

Have a nagging feeling at the moment that maybe it is time to clear out the Rep Panerai box and get that lifetime watch you will take to the grave.

Then when I look into my box of Panerai delights, which have been built up over the last 8 years, i ask if they should stay and the idea of a gen purchase should go.

Only two gen in contention, Omega speedmaster moon and Rolex explorer 1. Should i do the Panerai sale of the century or forget the Gen and enjoy the reps.

Thanks everyone.  I have been asking the same question on my regular forum :Repgeek..

I took a full eye candy wrist shots yesterday of the collection, which gave me some time to think about what I should do and my decision was made.

Going Gen and the full collection has started to go up for sale at Repgeek.  Might just keep my Audemars MBK EOD and cartier santos 100 chrono gold but I might just go completely cold turkey and let everything go.

Hi D - its an urge that many old regulars get from time to time.

I like your Gen choice. I went for the original Moonie Speedmaster myself, then the Rolex DJ 1601 and Tudor Snowflake - all after getting hooked on Reps.

I will warn you now, your 'thousands of pounds worth' of Gens can easily end up as watch queens, if you do not clear out all of the Reps! LOL

I still have a box full of Reps (again after selling many)  - which tend to get out more than others..................

My biggest regret so far is I had a chance to buy a friends Gen Pam 116 F, at a bargain price last year and I turned it down. That mistake will go with me to my grave. That decorated movement bridge, Ti case and Tobacco dial was to die for...........

The big issue today is that you can literally have 4-8 decent Pam Reps for the price of one Gen?

Hmmmm I'd say depends on how often you switch out watches. For myself I like variety to much to go strictly gen. I switch out watches twice a week and I have some reps that I'll never be able to afford the gen and even if I could $25,000 is just to much for a timepiece. For the amount of high end reps I own I could easily purchase a gen Tudor Black Bay and a Tag Heur but I choose to keep them so I can change out regularly and feed my fetish :fool:

For example the Pam Bronzo 382! Rare watch and the rep will be awesome for any Paneristi.
