B12b12 Posted March 19, 2014 Report Share Posted March 19, 2014 Hi all I just bought a $250 gmt 2 from a TD Supposed to have a nickel plated Asian 2836-2 modified to Rolex calibre 3186 bridges Looking at my pic is this what I have ? No. But what you have is functionally the same (it's still a 2836-2) and the Rolex bridges look stupid, don't fool anyone, don't change the functioning of your watch, and have a reputation for being unreliable. You're better off with what you got. The bezel is exactly the same - like painted on flimsy aluminium or something. The gen is like that too. What did you think the bezel would be made from? I guess I was hoping for a case and bracelet more spectacular than my $90 special .. But it feels just the same - a bit cheap :-) Because of my lack of knowledge I was hoping for a ceramic bezel :-) I think I basically bought the wrong watch It's the later model I want with the updates bracelet ; oversize ; with ceramic bezel - generally blue / black bezel ...
