Do ETA 2892 & 2836 have the same crown threads?

I have a 2836 fitted into a UPO and planning on upgrading it with gen tube and crown.

So my question is whether the existing stem would fit the gen crown without modifications?

Stems are the same.

Only issue you may run into is the length of your stem. If the receiving end inside the crown is a different depth between rep and gen you may find your stem to be either too long or too short. If too long easy enough to adjust down if too short you will need a new stem.

Is epoxy safe to use when mounting the tube to the case?

I heard it is not the best method but I did with success several times.

It should be ok, as long as you install the tube properly and apply a sufficient quantity of epoxy.

 

The more difficult part for me was to remove the rep tube from the case (difficulty varies a lot from watch to watch)
