EbolaVirus
Hi All, Is there any replacement hour/minute wheels, or other solution I can use for making the hands higher off the dial? It's for a watch I'm making. The dial is a little too thick. I'm looking to go 0.5-1.0mm higher if possible. Thanks. =)
krpster
Depending on what you have currently on the movement yes. I would expect you likely have the STD height (H1) pinions so it is possible to replace with taller ones. H5 will give you an extra 1.0mm which is what you will want. H2 only gives an extra 0.25mm. However, you will also need to replace the second wheel to get the seconds hand pinion to clear the minute wheel which will require quite a bit of tear down from the back side. EbolaVirus
Thank you both for your input. I'm not worried about a tear down. I'm looking forward to it! Thanks!
EbolaVirus
OK. I've done some more work on this. Hour Needs to be 1.5mm longer Mins need to be 2.0mm longer Secs need to clear the min hand The hands I'm making are 0.75mm thick each... I don't think I will be able to go much thinner. Also the dial is 0.75mm thick. So my question is; Do the parts listed previously go to that distance or will I need to find other parts or another solution? Thanks! =)
kbh
AFAIK, the H5 is the tallest set available. You can Google the 2893-2 specifications and find a drawing showing the installed heights. If you are making the hands, why not just make longer tubes? For disassembly :http://www.eta.ch/swisslab/2892a2/2892a2.html
