rocketmaninphx Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Hello: Folks. I have a rep Rolex Explorer that supposedly had a Swiss movement. Watch runs great for time but the date mechanism has become stuck. It's nice case with the Rolex crown on the Crystal so I'd like to get it fixed, but likely needs a movement replacement. Is there anyone out there who can guide me to someone that can do the movement replacement? I am in the US and would greatly appreciate some guidance to find someone that can help. Thank you in advance for your assistance
GenTLe Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 See here: and here (last one is valid for the Eta clones in the reps) and here: or here: (the small second has been removed in a "naive" way... At least I'd have hacked the seconds!) etc etc... You can find everything, just search.
rocketmaninphx Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Posted August 9, 2014 Thank you for the information. But I was hopping to have someone that I could buy the movement from and pay to do the movement exchange. My eyes are terrible and I am not sure I want to work with something that delicate. Additionally I have none of the tools to even get the case open. Any guidance to find someone is appreciated and thanks to the initial info.
SSTEEL Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Try Katt, or 10:10 Chris, both are in the US.
GenTLe Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Ops... Sorry mate, I've skipped "someone that can" in your post...
rocketmaninphx Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Posted August 9, 2014 Thanks to both of you. Katt does not appear to be active since 2010 and 10L10 Chris dosent come up in the members listings Must have moved on to other interests. I'll keep trolling. BTW a frind just brought me back a Rep Omega Dark Side of the Moon from Thailand for around $100US Thanks for all your help.
kbh Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) If it's really got a Swiss movement, it would be foolish to replace it. Fixing the date mechanism could be very simple. Edited August 9, 2014 by kbh
rocketmaninphx Posted August 10, 2014 Author Report Posted August 10, 2014 Thanks for the advice. I've got no tools to check it out/
