Watchmeister
Apparently, admin is finalizing some update work. I have received intermittent emails informing the membership what is up. Being down - bad thing. Being informed what is going on - good thing.
Sherrington
He had to update his DNS record with the root level domain servers. Once you put out your zone files (done a couple days ago) they can take 48 hours to propagate across the web... then the new info will be visible again. You could bring him up directly by IP address, or wait for the RLDS to get synch'd up, then you can call him up by URL again. Is this English you,re speaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tutima
I have been getting email notification as well. But I have not experienced any problem in the past 2/3 days although the email indicated otherwise.

jkerouac
my head hurts DNS record -- think 'address information' . We use "friendly" addresses such as www.rwg.cc , but computers rely on more specific IP or internet protocol addresses to route your request. 'root level domain servers' --think 'phone directories'. When you move or change phone numbers, it can take up to a year for a new phone book to reflect your new information, but slightly less time (presumably) for directory assistance to get this new information. But even directory assistance doesn't get these updates instantly.
