Rivet removal question

I need replace the outer clasp on my 7836 bracelet. It's attached to the hinged leaf with a rivet. Is there a recommended way of extracting it, and, is it reusable? Or do I need to get a new rivet to hammer in to replace it?

Ok. Just realized its sacrificial. I will need to find a new pin and hammer it over to round it. What could go wrong?

IIRC those are two-piece rivets with male and female halves.  I think O. Frei has them. 

 

You can make your own rivet but make sure it's softish material.  A hard nail will resist peening and you'll damage the clasp.

Remember to use a bit of Loctite.
