dbane883 Posted June 10, 2015 Report Posted June 10, 2015 I need replace the outer clasp on my 7836 bracelet. It's attached to the hinged leaf with a rivet. Is there a recommended way of extracting it, and, is it reusable? Or do I need to get a new rivet to hammer in to replace it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dbane883 Posted June 10, 2015 Author Report Posted June 10, 2015 Ok. Just realized its sacrificial. I will need to find a new pin and hammer it over to round it. What could go wrong? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nanuq Posted June 10, 2015 Report Posted June 10, 2015 IIRC those are two-piece rivets with male and female halves. I think O. Frei has them. You can make your own rivet but make sure it's softish material. A hard nail will resist peening and you'll damage the clasp. 1
