Why Is The Valjoux 72 So Expensive?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Is it because parts can be used in gen Daytona's?

Because franken builders want them so bad?

Is it rarer than the other vintage Valjoux's?

All the above or something else?

Exactly correct - the movements themselves have skyrocketed in price because they can go into Daytona's and repper's /frankeners what have you are driving that market. Also, just having them around for parts for vintage daytona's is important...so, that and the ever scarce donor watch market leaves you with a rather expensive movement.
