I'm working with jfreeman on getting the meet up together. - I wanted to take a quick poll on where the majority of people are in order to pick the location.

Please Vote if you want to attend. We'll lock everything down later on the most likley to attend. for now, just want to if it works with your schedule is fine :)

while were at it - PM me with your email address - i will also try to dig up the old email address list as well.

I went back through the old RWG stuff and found the people that showed interest last time.

I emailed those who i have email addresses for.

I have the following forum names. If you are one of these people can you indicate if you want to remain on the list. If you have changed your forum name, can you let me know that so i can change the list. If you want off the list, or if you know of someone who isn't active on the board anymore but is ont he list and might want to go let me know.

I get down to Palm Beach several times a winter so keep me in mind as you zero in on a date. If it is when I am down there I vote for Palm Beach - the middle. :)

were looking at places in broward and palm beach county right now. Also were looking at dates of Jan 20th and Feb 3rd.

But, were in the "tossing ideas out" phase :)

also, if you want to be on the email loop, pm me your address.

I'm in Jacksonville, but will be in Miami over the weekend for New Year's. I guess that's a terrible time for a GTG.

BTW, I was thinking about going to Mayor's in Dadeland Mall on Saturday to look at some gen watches. Is that a good place to do some looking or can anyone recommend better in the Miami area?

Thanks,

-- m

Mostly Panerai...in the flesh. There are no dealers in Jax. I've seen lots of pics but not the real thing.

there are typically a selection of about 7 to 15 PAMs at http://www.levinsonjewelers.com/

levinsons jewlers around the corner from my house in plantation. near the sawgrass mall. Let me know if you will be there, i'll pop over

Sawgrass Mall is not bad for watch shopping. They have a jewelry exchange in the oasis section and the dealers are pretty friendly. There is also a very nice watch store at the Hard Rock Casino. The Galleria mall is in Fort lauderdale and is more upscale, but your best bet if you are in miami is to go to Bal Harbor shops. Pretty high end there. Keep in mind none of these places are anywhere near Dadeland mall which is southwest miami if I am not mistaken. I am not familiar with that area.

BTW, for anyone interested in the meet, I will buy the first round of drinks and appetizers. If phoband agrees to Cheetah the first dance is on me  .......................

I'm heading to southwest maimi, the Bird Rd and Kendall area...the GF's family is down that way.

'Sfunny, where I went to high school down there, everyone either lived in your neighborhood or in Rio Vista / Victoria Park out in Ft. Laud.

My dad's office is near Pine Island, I believe.

Small world.

Hey Marcus,

Hope you had a nice Christmas. How ya been?

You definitely need to make it to Bal Harbour shops in Bal Harbour, it's about 30 minutes away from the Kendall area, a little north of Miami Beach. There's a Tourneau that stocks Panerai, JLC, IWC, Patek-- everything. And right now they have some pretty damn good financing deals.

Hey Eric. I hope you had a nice Christmas too. My GF wants to go to Bal Harbour, so I might be able to make it by Tourneau later in the weekend. Thanks for the heads up.

Phoband...Levinson's looks doable. I'll be coming into town on the Turnpike and it doesn't look too far away. Shoot me a PM with your telephone number if you are interested in meeting up.

Yeah, its not to far off the turnpike, although there is no exit on Broward Blvd - you have to get off at sunrise or 595 probably easier to go 595 west to university then head north to Broward Blvd. - its tucked away in a little strip shopping area outside of a mall.

Bal Harbor is definatly the top high end shopping in South Florida. I haven't been there, but i have lots of friends who go regularly.

If your into the High end stuff You may want to swing by Sawgrass Mills Mall - its a huge outlet mall and they have recently add a "high end" wing of stores including

Barneys New York Outlet

Burberry Factory Outlet

Coach Factory

Coco's Day Spa & Salon

Cole Haan

Crate and Barrel Outlet

David Yurman

Elie Tahari Outlet

Escada Company Store

Fitelle

Féraud/Rösch

Grand Lux Cafe

Hugo Boss Factory Store

Kate Spade

Le Creuset

Malo

Max Mara Outlet

Neiman Marcus Last Call Clearance Center

Nordstrom Rack

Nurielle

Paul Masion De Qualité

Polo Ralph Lauren Children's Factory Store

Salvatore Ferragamo Company Store

Sixty Outlet

St. John Company Store

I'm not a big fan of Levinson's anymore. I used to be a good cusomer there but always had some sort of issue with them when it came to customer service. IMHO the 2 best places for watches in South Florida are East Coast in Sunny Isles Beach & Moray's in downtown Miami. Both crush Levinson's when it comes to discounts, selection & service. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Live in Tampa; but don't want to go any further east than Orlando, and no further south that Sarasota. Sorry, but in outside sales I can't stand to drive any more than I absolutely have to.

I'm definatly feeling ya on the driving. My trip in Feb to orlando has been postponed, but i always get up there a few times a year. If nothing else, i will be there in Sept for UCF's home opener against Texas in the new stadium :)

anyway , i'll definatly let you know when i'm in the area

UCF

U Can't Finish

U Can't Fail

LOL Sorry, had to do it. Majority of my friends from high school ended up going there. Most of them have good jobs and got into good grad schools, so I really can't knock UCF. Did you catch the UCF UF football game? .....teheehheehhehee

[censored] Texas.

Let me know when you're in Otown; I'll try to hook you up with a good rate at the World Marriott or Westin Grand Bohemian.

And definitely some damn good restaurants. :)

Ok - it looks like broward is a good center for those expressing interest

I'm going to throw out February 3rd as a date. Let me know if anyone has any major issues

I'm also going to throw out the same location we had last time which was Dave and Busters on i95/ Sheridan

For the following reasons:

1. Large Resturant with lots of tables for 6 which allows for discrete meeting but we can spread out

2. Decent food

3. Bar

4. no one will be there at lunch on a saturday

5. if the wife and kids or any combination thereof want to tag along they can go play in the video arcade

6. its now a tradition

why on saturday

1. it allows for folks from miami/ palm beach/ and ft pierce to come and join us without crazy rush hour traffic

2. even though saturday is for family/ kids/ soccer games i think that most of the folks who I have talked to are into watches enough to make the sacrafice :)

last time we had a small turnout, i think people wanted to "hear what it was like" but the couple of us that were there had a BLAST - and before you knew it we blew almost 3 hrs and it was time to head out

i expect to have a good group this time - at least i hope, with dozens if not over 100 watches :) i'm sure we'll all of have something unique to display

a quick reminder of the last one - from october of 2005
