IWC 3714 nightmare

Hello all,

I have a IWC 3714 rep (updated version with a pressed on bezel, yellow gold hour and minute hands and blue chrono hands) that stopped running after a knock at  the doorpost...

Otherwise it was one that was reasonably reliable as it was (while using the chrono 4 out of 5 times it had the tendency to stop)

I've taken it apart because the second hand catched on the hour hand afterwards and i wanted to graphite the thing.

While taking the hands of with my bergeon presto tool the second hand just snapped of with the pinion of the seconds at 6 gear... aargh!

To make matters worse the big and small chrono hand came of without the tubes.... what a load of crap :bangin:

Is there anyone that has a preferably complete set of hands the be willing to sell or knows where to get these and a new seconds @6 gear?

Riviting the hands back on it's tubes will most definately ruin the finish because they are coated... and without a sec's @6 gear it's stil useless.

Kinds regards and thanks in advance!

Bit late on this but for the chrono hands you should always use hand removing levers. The Bergeon Presto type tools will chew the chrono hands especially on reps as they are so soft.

Since using levers I've never had a problem

The videos I saw of the new movement had a very jerky 6 sub... even if it keeps running (guess we're still seeing how reliable they prove to be).

The Ceramic Miramar and Portuguese (v6 and swf) that have my colleagues are not jerky at all :)
